There are a few months each year when it seems like everywhere I turn I'm seeing pregnant bellies, sonogram pictures, or just getting phone calls about positive pregnancy tests! Its fall out of your chair crazy that this gets me in the "baby fever mood" but it does! I'm beyond excited about my sisters upcoming birth as her new household member will full fill my "baby needs" minus the weight gain, breastfeeding, and sleepless nights.
Go back though ~
But don't you remember that magical moment when the test was positive......The first time you heard the heart beat....... The first little flutter of movement.....The sonograms.......The incredible moment at birth when they say, "Its a boy!" or "Its a girl!" Holding them for the first time ever........ The moment they nurse for the first time......... The way they cuddle into the nape of your neck and sigh in perfect contentment.......
I held a little baby boy at a soccer game Sunday and his sweet little "coos" and "oohs" and unjudgemental smile just melted my heart! I look at Madilyn so independent and care free, Caitlyn who does everything on her own now, Noah who will still climb up in my lap but doesn't enjoy my sense of humor anymore, and then Josh who is full of attitude and your so ridiculous looks...........
I long for that baby baby stage...... where they need me and want me and love me every minute of the day!
(((Big Sigh))) but then they grow up to what I've already got so I guess I'll just wait 12-15 more years for some grandchildren. :-)

Keep on holding those little, precious bundles that belong to someone else; snuggle that baby close and breathe it in; that's as close to Heaven as we get while still being here on earth. Pray a blessing over that precious, God-sent baby, then hand him/her back to mommy or daddy. Let them change the diapers, clean up the vomit, pay for all of those disposable diapers, etc.
I'm positive the parents will allow you to babysit anytime you need a "fix!"
You KNOW I will welcome as many grandchildren as God wants to give me, each one is unique and awesome, a wonderful miracle and a perfect gift from our Heavenly Father.
Love,
Mom
