Oh Joshua! I can't even begin to find the words to explain how much I love you. There is a special connection a mom has with her first born. Because of you my life changed forever. You were an amazing miracle I never thought I'd have. You touched my heart and life in a way that changed my very being and I'm thankful every day that I have you.
11 years old is sooooo hard for me to believe. First of all because I don't feel old enough to have a child in the double digits but mainly because it seems like yesterday that you were born. There were a host of people waiting at the hospital window to catch a glimpse of your perfectness. Boy were we all shocked at your fire engine red hair, your poor little legs up around your ears, and your otherwise complete handsomeness. It was all a whirl wind dream come true and I relish every moment...... ..
That was until Grannie had to leave me alone with you to take care of all by myself! Thats the true day I realized it was all real. You were MY responsibility for life!
Boy have I messed up quite a bit along our way in the last 11 years. We have our battles don't we? But one thing remains the same always and forever my sweet little man. I LOVE YOU! There are no strings attached, no conditions, and no pressure. I do have hopes for you though.
I hope you will continue to be sensitive to others. I hope that you will stay true to your Christian choices, your faith, and your church. I hope that you will be honest, sincere, trustworthy, respectful, and kind. You can be anything you want to be sweetheart and your dad and I will support you, guide you, love you, and help you in any way we can. Please trust that we "have your back".
Congratulations on your first 11 years! I can't wait to get to know you even better during the next 11.
