Joshua Celebrating after his team wins the Fall Championship!
It was a REALLY long weekend.
We started at 8:15pm on Friday night and boy it was
C-O-L-D! The boys beat a team they had never taken down before and they played their hearts out. The game ended with a score of 9-4 and everyone knew the Rough Riders meant business! It was an almost flawless game of teamwork, excellent batting and fielding and just plain good luck!
Saturday morning arrived with sunshine and clear skies and so did the Duncanville Angels. (I don't think we had lost to them in several years) They took us down at the end of the game to a devastating 9-8. It all worked out in the end though because that gave us a Seed 3 which I think worked out to our advantage.
We played our 3rd game on Saturday night at 6pm and the Rough Riders were back on track and they meant BUSINESS!
This leads us up to Sunday......... THE day!
There was a rough Texas wind blowin up the dust, depositing balls in places they weren't intended to go.....but the boys pressed on.......
Two games later, despite the wind, a broken nose,
and a messed up call by the home plate umpire the Rough Riders FINALLY got the championship they worked so hard for. Win or lose though we have a great team of really good boys. And the parents can't be compared. We feel so lucky to have been fortunate enough to be a part of the Rough Rider family
